The Wooster Transportation Program (WTP)

The Wooster Transportation Program is funded through the Wooster City income tax and is managed by Community Action Wayne/Medina (CAW/M).  It is for people who income-qualify within 200% of the Federal Poverty Level or who are disabled, seniors, veterans, or active military personnel. 

The program offers two options:

1.  Free rides on the fixed route Wooster Transit drives in Wooster.  Wooster Transit bus rides are free when showing the driver a WTP Photo ID card. 

2.  Purchasing transportation passes for one-way trips from one location to another.  Passes are $2.00 per one-way trip inside the city limits.  Work & education passes, that are good for trips up to 3 miles outside of the Wooster city limits, are also available.  These passes can also be used for childcare stops when the parent is going to or from work/education site.  Work & education passes are 10 for $18.00

Participants must enroll in the program at CAW/M office, located at 905 Pittsburgh Avenue, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3;30 p.m.  The following documents are necessary to enroll:  a state-issued photo ID, proof of 90 days of income , proof of Wooster City residency, and if desired, proof of disability.  For veterans or active military personnel, please provide proof of military service.  There is a $1.00 charge for the photo ID card which is good for one year from the date of purchase.

Wheelchair transportation is available.
